What this site is

An independent comparison of the guided tours and multi-day packages that run in Batanes, plus the practical information a visitor needs before booking one. We are not a tour operator, a travel agency or a seller of travel. We hold no bookings, take no payments and have no staff in the Philippines.

Every booking happens on the platform's own site under the operator's terms. If a boat is cancelled or a pickup never arrives, the operator and the platform are who you deal with, not us.

Where the tour data comes from

Prices, durations, ratings, review counts, inclusions, age limits and cancellation terms are read directly off each operator's own listing and reproduced with the date they were read. Every tour page carries the same fields in the same order so the listings can be compared line by line, and each one states its own price-check date and product ID.

We do not copy operator marketing descriptions. Where an itinerary time or an inclusion is quoted, it comes from the listing's own itinerary and inclusions blocks — which is also where the pickup times, boat transfers and fee exclusions on this site come from.

Where the provincial information comes from

The visitor registration requirement, the fee amounts and the exemptions are taken from Executive Order No. 23, Series of 2026, issued by the Provincial Government of Batanes and reported in the Philippine press, and from the registration portal itself at bookings.breathtakingbatanes.com. The current figure is PHP 405 per person — PHP 200 ecotourism fee plus PHP 205 visitor ID fee — in force since 15 June 2026, verified in August 2026.

The Ivana LEAH fee of PHP 100, effective January 2026, is stated on the Klook listings' own "additional information" blocks. Self-drive tricycle rates, boat fares and the Sabtang island fee are the figures reported by published Batanes travel guides, not quoted prices, and we label them that way because they are negotiated on the day.

Where sources disagree, we say so and show the date attached to each number.

How reviews are used

Only two of the listings compared here carry a review record: 4.8 out of 5 from 66 reviews on the three-day package and 5.0 from 8 reviews on the two-day. That is a small base, and a 5.0 from eight reviewers is not the same evidence as a 4.8 from sixty-six. We print both counts every time we print a rating so the difference is visible.

Quoted reviews keep the reviewer's name, party size and travel month as published, including the critical ones — the traveller who could not reach the operator by phone before her tour is quoted on the homepage next to the ones who loved the trip. We do not write testimonials, and this site carries no aggregate rating of its own in its markup, because the site itself has no reviews.

What we cannot verify

We have not been on these tours. We cannot tell you whether a particular guide is good, whether a specific van is roadworthy, or whether the sea will be crossable on the morning you booked. Where a listing is silent on something — group size, return time, whether lunch is included — we write "None stated" rather than filling the gap with a plausible guess.

We also do not audit operator accreditation. The provincial registration portal asks you to name a Department of Tourism-accredited tour operator; whether a given listing's operator holds current accreditation is a question for the operator and the province, and we do not claim to have checked it.

How the site earns, and what that does not buy

Affiliate commissions on bookings made after clicking through from here, at no additional cost to you. Placement, ordering and wording are not for sale, and no operator has paid to appear or to be described in a particular way. The full arrangement is in the affiliate disclosure.

The check on that promise is whether the site ever recommends the cheaper option against its own interest. It does: the two-day package at $56.29 is the lowest-commission listing here and it is the one recommended to anyone with only two clear days, and the $331 four-day package is described plainly as costing three times the equivalent for the same three routes.

Corrections

Prices move, fees change and rules like the June 2026 registration order arrive with little notice. If something on this site has gone stale, tell us through the contact page and it gets corrected with a new checked-on date rather than quietly edited.

Every page carries the month it was last reviewed. If that date is old, treat the numbers on it as old.
